COLUMBINE POETS OF COLORADO MEMBERS POETRY CONTEST 2017

DEADLINE
Entries must be postmarked by June 30, 2017.

ENTRY FEE
$3.00 per poem for up to 3 poems, but each poem must be in a different category.

CATEGORIES
1) Free Verse
2) Prose Poem
3) Specific Form (sonnet, villanelle, haibun, blank verse, rhyming verse, etc. ).                            
Enter only one poem per category.

QUALIFICATIONS
Poems must be the original and unpublished work of a current or new member of Columbine Poets. New memberships are accepted upon entering this contest. See instructions about how to join here
 
GUIDELINES
1  Poems must be typed single space in 12 pt. font and limited to two pages.
2.  Your name must not appear anywhere in the poem or on the page.
3.  In the top right corner, type either Free verse, Prose Poem or Specific Form
 (plus the name of the specific form: sonnet, villanelle, haibun, rhyming verse, etc.).
4. Originals or copies are acceptable, but nothing hand-printed /written.
5. On a separate cover sheet, type your name, address, phone number(s), e-mail address and the titles of all the poems submitted.
    No poems will be returned.
6. Send a #10 SASE for a winners list.

In each of the three categories:
 
      First Place       $40
      Second Place  $35
      Third Place      $30

Columbine Poets is a state poetry society for Colorado, affiliated with the National Federation of  State Poetry Societies (NFSPS). 

Our mission is to promote the writing and appreciation of poetry throughout the state of Colorado for both adults and young students. 

Anyone interested in becoming a member of Columbine Poets may include a separate check for $20, 

indicating “For Membership” along with your contest submissions. Both checks should be made out to 

Columbine Poets, Inc. 

As a member of Columbine Poets, one automatically becomes a member of the NFSPS and is eligible to enter 

the national as well as the many state poetry contests listed in the NFSPS Strophes newsletter.
