Manningham Student Contest Grades 6-12

2 Divisions 6-8 and 9-12

Ten prizes will be awarded in each division: First Place - $75, Second Place - $50, Third Place - $40, Fourth Place - $35, Fifth Place - $30, and five Honorable Mentions - $10 each.

All winning poems will be published in the Manningham Trust Student Poetry Award Anthology. Winners will receive complimentary copies. The schools of each winning student will receive a complimentary copy for the school library. There is no entry fee.

Poetry to Go

2 Divisions 6-8 and 9-12

Have your words travel on all RTD Metro buses.
Your poetry will be seen by thousands of people in our community!
Postmark/Entry Deadline:  May 13, 2024
Eligibility: Open to all teens (13-19) in the Denver Metro Area.
Theme: Open to any theme, but no vulgar/obscene language.
Length:  Between 3 and 8 lines, plus title. 
Style: Poems may be in any style, rhyming or unrhymed.
Fees: There is no entry fee and no cash prizes for winners.
Entries: Enter one poem only.  Type your name, age, home address (with city and zip code), phone, email address, and name of school, on the top left-hand side of the page.
Poems must be typewritten.
Originality: Below your poem, write the following statement: “The poem above is my own, original creative work.”  Then sign your name in pen.
Poems will not be returned.
Winners:  The winning poems will be displayed on
all RTD buses.
